Saving The Economy – One Small Business At A Time

According to USA Today, Sunday, April 30, kicked off National Small Business Week, “a time to recognize the many contributions of small business owners”. The article, “Rhonda Abrams: Women Business Owners Will Save America”, describes the many challenges that women entrepreneurs face in starting and growing a small business. It asks the reader to “focus on the critical role women business owners make in keeping our economy afloat”.

As a designer, I rely on fellow small business owners to deliver quality goods and services to my clients. These talented women are passionate about their work, dedicated to providing excellent customer service and committed to supporting other women entrepreneurs. So in recognition of National Small Business Week, they have agreed to share their personal stories including why they chose to start their business and the personal and professional obstacles that challenge them on a daily basis. They will describe what motivates them and how they give back to their communities. Also featured will be some larger companies that routinely lend their support to small businesses in the form of resources, information and advice. You will see the before- and-after photos of a collaborative home renovation project and hear from the client about her experience working with small women-owned businesses.
